Da Lian Da Holdings, an international leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary, Youshang, has launched a 6KW high-voltage DC/DC converter solution (STDES-6KWHVDC) based on STM32G4, STW40N95DK5, STPSC40H12CWL and other products from STfa Semiconductor (ST).

With the popularization of electric vehicles, the development of charging infrastructure has become a key factor in driving the revolution of electric transportation. In this context, DC/DC converters, as an important part of automotive charging systems, are also playing an increasingly important role. In order to meet the needs of users for a faster and more reliable charging experience, Da Lian Da You Shang has launched a 6KW high-voltage DC/DC converter solution (STDES-6KWHVDC) based on products such as ST STM32G4, STW40N95DK5, and STPSC40H12CWL, which can provide an efficient charging experience for electric vehicles.

The STDES-6KWHVDCDC scheme is equipped with a digitally controlled full bridge LLC resonant converter and uses SiC diodes for output rectification. According to the output voltage requirements, the LLC transformer output configuration can be interchanged between the center tap and the full wave. This can cause frequency reversal, significantly improving efficiency throughout the entire output voltage range. The scheme is equipped with two models: dual transformers for limited voltage (smaller magnetic cores) and single transformers for wide output. Among them, dual transformers are suitable for 200V-500V or 500V-1000V, while single transformer models can be used at 200V-1000V voltage through frequency switching.
In product selection, STW40N95DK5 MDmesh DK5 power MOSFET is used for LLC level, STPSC40H12CWL SiC diode is used for rectification, and STM32G474RET6 MCU is used for management and control. And the auxiliary power supply is based on the secondary GND to supply power to the MOSFET gate driver, microcontroller, and signal conditioner. In addition to the PM8834MTR gate driver IC, the gate drive of LLC MOSFET is also isolated through a gate drive transformer.

After testing, this solution has excellent power efficiency, further reflecting the excellent performance of ST products and comprehensive digital control capabilities. It can achieve high efficiency under wide input voltage and load conditions. In the future, the United Nations will also collaborate with ST to launch more power solutions, providing assistance for the transformation of automotive electrification.
