Vishay's new 10 MBd low-power optocoupler, with a power supply current as low as 5 mA and a voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V

Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of five new 10 MBd low-power high-speed optocouplers, which will help save energy in industrial applications. Single channel VOH260A, VOIH060A, and VOWH260A, as well as dual channel VOH263A and VOIH063A, have a voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V and adopt open collector output. They are suitable for low-voltage microcontrollers, I2C, and SPI bus systems.

The recently released Vishay Semiconductors device combines efficient input LEDs with integrated programmable output photodetector logic gates in DIP-8, SMD-8, and SOIC-8 packages. The maximum power supply current for each channel of the optocoupler is only 5 mA, and the connection threshold current is low, with a typical value of 2 mA. The microcontroller is directly connected without the need for an additional driver stage, thus simplifying the design.

VOH260A, VOIH060A, VOWH260A, VOH263A, and VOIH063A are suitable for data communication, high-speed A/D and D/A conversion, signal level conversion, and high-voltage protection of automation equipment, motor drivers, and electric tools. Internal shielding of the device ensures a minimum transient common mode noise suppression (CMTI) of 15 kV/ μ S. The optocoupler has a low threshold current and supply current, making it an ideal solution for current noise isolation and grounding loop disconnection in digital applications.

The device complies with RoHS standards, with a maximum rated isolation voltage of 5000 VRMS and an isolation distance of 5 mm to 10 mm, meeting a wide range of requirements, including application requirements with operating voltages exceeding 1000 V.

The high-speed optocoupler can now provide samples and has been mass-produced, with a supply cycle of 6 weeks.
