MALVERN, Pennsylvania, USA, Shanghai, China - May 29, 2025- Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced the launch of a new 80 V TrenchFET Gen IV N-channel power MOSFET, SiEH4800EW, featuring leadless bonding (BWL) packaging and industry-leading on resistance, aimed at improving efficiency in industrial applications. Compared with competing devices of the same size, the on resistance of Vishay Siliconix SiEH4800EW is 15% lower, while RthJC is 18% lower.
The recently released device has a typical conduction electron value of 0.88 mW at 10 V, which minimizes power loss caused by conduction and improves efficiency. At the same time, it improves thermal performance with a maximum RthJC as low as 0.36 ℃/W. This space saving device has a volume of 8 mm x 8 mm, reducing PCB area by 50% compared to MOSFETs packaged in TO-263, and its thickness is only 1 mm.
SiEH4800EW uses fused solder pads, increasing the solderable area of the source solder pad to 3.35 mm2, which is four times larger than the traditional PIN solder area. This reduces the current density between MOSFET and PCB, thereby reducing the risk of electromigration and making the design more reliable. In addition, the side wings of the device that are easy to adsorb solder enhance solderability and make it easier to visually inspect the reliability of solder joints.
This MOSFET is often suitable for synchronous rectification and Oring applications. Typical applications include motor drive controllers, power tools, welding equipment, plasma cutting machines, battery management systems, robots, and 3D printers. In these applications, the device can operate at high temperatures of+175 ℃, and its BWL design minimizes parasitic inductance while maximizing current capability.
MOSFET complies with RoHS standards, is halogen-free, and has undergone 100% Rg and UIS testing.
SiEH4800EW can now provide samples and has achieved mass production, with a supply cycle of 13 weeks.
