Da Da Da You Shang Group launches 140W PD3.1 GaN charger solution based on Dior products

On March 18, 2025, Da Da Da Lian Holdings, an internationally leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary Youshang has launched a 140W PD3.1 GaN charger solution based on Dior AP3306, APR3401, and AP43771H controllers.




Nowadays, high-power fast charging technology for smart devices has become a common focus of consumer attention. In this context, gallium nitride, as an emerging semiconductor material, is gradually becoming a new favorite in the field of fast charging due to its excellent energy conversion efficiency, fast response capability, and low thermal loss characteristics. At the same time, the release of the USB PD3.1 protocol has elevated charging efficiency to a new level. This protocol not only significantly improves charging power, but also introduces multiple voltage levels, making fast charging technology more flexible and versatile, thus meeting the charging needs of various smart devices. In view of this trend, Da Da Da Da You Shang has launched a 140W PD3.1 GaN charger solution based on the Dior AP3306, APR3401, and AP43771H controllers, using a patented ACF topology to meet DOE VI and COC Tier 2 efficiency requirements. And the solution supports PD3.1 function and AVS 28V, with a step size of 100mV, which can reduce the overall BOM cost.

 




This scheme consists of three main controllers: AP3306, APR3401, and AP43771H. Among them, AP3306 is a highly integrated active clamp flyback (ACF) controller, mainly designed for offline power optimization, which can meet the needs of ultra-low standby power consumption, high power density, and comprehensive protection. APR3401 is a secondary side synchronous rectification (SR) controller that can be used as a rectifier in synchronous secondary side MOSFET driver DCM operation, effectively reducing the power consumption of the secondary side rectifier and providing high performance for the scheme.


AP43771H is a protocol decoder responsible for connecting USB Type-C devices? The charging device (DUC) matches the relevant charger capacity and requests, and adjusts the feedback network of the charger to meet the voltage and current requirements of the DUC. In addition, the scheme also uses gallium nitride (GaN) FET to further improve charging efficiency and thermal performance.
