Postar em Jan 01,1970

Morse Microelectronics launches compliant Wi Fi HaLow System on Chip (Soc), ushering in a new era of European connectivity technology

Ultra low power consumption and long-distance connectivity capabilities have been fully optimized for the European and Middle Eastern markets

Embedded World, Nuremberg, Germany 2025- March 14, 2025- Morse Microelectronics, a leading global supplier of Wi Fi HaLow chips, announced today the launch of MM8102. This new Wi Fi HaLow SoC is tailor-made for large-scale IoT deployments in Europe and the Middle East.

As a low-power version of MM8108, MM8102 can provide 1 MHz and 2 MHz bandwidth under 256-QAM modulation, with a throughput of up to 8.7 Mbps, far exceeding the speed of LoRaWAN networks.

The MM8102 Wi Fi HaLow SoC uses the sub GHz ISM frequency band, which provides better coverage and signal penetration than traditional 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz Wi Fi networks. MM8102 sets a new benchmark for high-speed, long-distance IoT connectivity in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In addition, MM8102 complies with European and global regulatory requirements, simplifying the development work for IoT device manufacturers.

Specially designed for Europe, with a focus on the future

MM8102 has set a new standard for IoT connectivity in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with the following characteristics:

Compliance: MM8102 is optimized for the European, Middle Eastern, and African markets, supporting 1MHz and 2MHz bandwidths, with 16dBm EIRP, fully supporting duty cycle limitations, and complying with EU wireless connectivity regulations.

Low power operation: optimized for battery powered applications, significantly extending sleep time, with extremely low power consumption in sleep mode.

Providing the highest performance: Supports 256-QAM modulation, with a burst throughput of up to 8.7Mbps at 2MHz bandwidth, providing excellent connectivity performance for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa regions.

Support EU duty cycle: Fully supports burst and average duty cycles, meets EU regulatory requirements, with an average throughput of 867kbps for access points at 10% duty cycle and 243kBps for IoT websites at 2.8% duty cycle.

Michael De Nil, co-founder and CEO of Morse Microelectronics, said, "By launching the MM8102, we have laid a solid foundation for a new era of IoT in Europe. This chip is designed for the future, providing powerful, long-range, low-power connectivity while ensuring full compliance with European regulations. By fully unleashing the full potential of Wi Fi HaLow in large-scale IoT deployments, it makes it easier for developers to create smarter and more efficient devices that thrive in complex environments. Today, we are pleased to announce this news at Embedded World, bringing a new era of connectivity to Europe

MM8102 has extremely low power consumption and fully complies with Wi Fi HaLow standards, making it an ideal choice for smart cities, industrial IoT, smart metering, sales terminals, logistics, and large-scale sensor networks. In addition, MM8102 also has the following features:

USB, SDIO, and SPI host integration: Based on the newly provided USB interface in the MM8102 chip, users can more easily integrate Wi Fi HaLow technology into existing and newly built networks.

Enhance security: Supports WPA3 security protocol, with SAE functionality and GCMP encryption, providing strong protection for the link layer.

Scalable design: Adopting a compact 5 x 5mm BGA package, minimizing the size and cost of printed circuit boards (PCBs) to the greatest extent possible.
