Qi2 is a new generation wireless charging technology standard launched by WPC (Wireless Charging Alliance), aimed at providing a better charging experience and paving the way for the development of future wireless charging products and enhanced features. The Qi2 standard introduces the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) technology based on Apple's MagSafe magnetic charging technology into the Qi wireless charging standard. Compared to BPP and EPP, MPP adds a magnetic ring to achieve optimal positioning alignment. Driven by this technology, Da Da Da Da Da Shi Ping has launched the MPP Qi2 wireless module solution based on the easily accessible semiconductor WB8118 chip, which can accelerate the design of wireless charging products that comply with the Qi2 standard.
WB8118 is an efficient magnetic induction wireless power transmitter IC that supports Qi2 15W wireless fast charging and has a wide input voltage range of 3.3V~18V. This IC is compatible with wireless power receiver (ASK) communication, has a fixed communication interface port, and is equipped with reliable overvoltage, overcurrent, and temperature protection schemes. Integrate voltage regulators, full bridges, and drivers within the IC, and communicate with other devices through the I2C interface.
In terms of appearance design, WB8118 adopts environmentally friendly lead-free technology and compact QFN 24 pin packaging form, with dimensions of 3mm × 4mm × 0.55mm. In addition, the chip has a wide rated operating temperature range and can withstand extreme temperature changes from -40 ℃ to 105 ℃.
