AMS Osram ALIYOS technology enables the integration of LEDs onto thin, flexible transparent substrates. This technological breakthrough lays the foundation for revolutionary design of luminescent surfaces, bringing highly interactive and attractive experiences. In the latest product demonstration, ALIYOS LED film was successfully integrated into various panels. This innovative achievement is attributed to the close collaboration between AMS Osram and its partner LEONHARD KURZ in in in mold decoration (IMD) and functional film bonding (FFB) technology.
Shanghai, China, October 8, 2024- Leading global optical solutions provider, AMS, announced today that the innovative application of LED films in the automotive industry is the next direction for ALIYOS LED on foil technology. This cutting-edge technology combines AMS Osram's ALIYOS technology with LEONHARD KURZ's innovative in mold decoration (IMD) and functional film bonding (FFB) technology. This technology adopts FFB post mold hot stamping process, and through hot pressing treatment, ALIYOS LED film can be integrated into various panels. Combined with IMD surface decoration technology, it provides unparalleled design flexibility, achieves unprecedented luminous effects, and opens up new opportunities for the automotive lighting industry.

With the support of in mold decoration (IMD) and functional film bonding (FFB) technology, ALIYOS has four different ultra-thin light panels, each with unique surface design and lighting effects, and 32 individually controllable red light segments, forming a striking light and shadow pattern, greatly improving the aesthetics and functionality of car interior and exterior lighting. When the light source is turned off, it can form a hidden light source design, and when turned on, it presents a "dazzling" effect. ALIYOS technology keeps up with the latest industry trends, providing powerful new choices for automotive designers and supporting innovation in vehicle design. Dr. Stephan Hartmann, Vice President of Automotive Exterior at AMS Osram, said, "The launch of ALIYOS technology and our collaboration with LEONHARD KURZ once again demonstrate AMS Osram's innovative leadership in the field of automotive lighting. ALIYOS technology opens up new innovative avenues for automotive lighting design and helps customers achieve intelligent solutions. We not only open up a whole new world for users, bringing a dual visual and functional experience, but also have advantages over traditional methods by improving the efficiency of lighting solutions and flat modules, saving materials, and optimizing the utilization of installation space
ALIYOS LED on foil technology can also flexibly customize light segments according to design requirements, bringing extremely delicate and clear visual effects. Each light segment can achieve precise brightness control, helping automotive designers and manufacturers create dynamic and interactive lighting solutions, further enhancing the overall aesthetic design of vehicles. ALIYOS provides both aesthetically pleasing and practical solutions for various automotive interior and exterior lighting needs. Reducing the complexity of parts, energy consumption intensity, and installation size limits enables new lighting functions to be more naturally integrated into the automotive design language.
Currently, AMS Osram is partnering with LEONHARD KURZ to showcase their innovative technology at the SIA VISION exhibition in Paris, France on October 16-17, 2024.
